Ollie (Olive Riley) passed away the morning of July 12, she was 108 years young (1899-2008), born in Broken Hill, Australia (an outback mining town). She had become a blogging legend in the last couple of years, as the world’s oldest blogger, her blog - Life Of Riley. A friend suggested that she begin recording her life and although she was unable to type it herself, friends recorded her inspiring words, videos, and photos once a week. She loved her dogs, her football team, and Aussie pies.” She talked about the past, the present and her current interests. She touched many hearts and thousands of fans world wide came to think of her as family.
Here is one of her inspiring quotes:
“If a woman who left school in 1914, can embrace the internet in her 106th year, what is there you can’t do, friend?”
I first read about her from this post Blogger Dies At Age 108. I look forward to reading over her blog and getting to know more about this inspiring woman.
One person can touch many lives in so many unexpected ways, and continue to be an inspiration for many years even after their passing.
May Ollie inspire us all to live well, live strong, and share our wisdom.
Health and Happiness, Lady Rose

Isn’t it a pity that icons like Ollie have to leave us. Just imagine what this lady has seen and experienced in her life time and blogging at the age of 108. She’s an inspiration to us all.

I had read about her on another blog. I briefly visited her blog, but will return when I have more time. I can just imagine some of the stories she must have.
I like that quote. Image embracing the Internet at 106…talk about someone that just wants to keep learning.

What an inspiration Ollie is to all of us. She asked for so little and gave so much. I feel I know her through her blogs. We can all learn so much from her. What a wonderful lady!
