It sounds like you're flip-flopping so much because you're so consumed with the idea of going on a diet - rather than being consumed with the desire to get healthy for life! You HAVE to eat more than 1000 calories a day, in order to survive in a healthy way. You can eat BIG, healthy meals AND snack during the day - IF you're eating the right things. Here's some tips on how to cut out unnecessary calories - maybe it will give you an idea about how you can cut out some BAD calories so you can add in some GOOD calories:

And that site has tons of other healthy tips too. I urge you to check it out! Good luck to you!

Hi Jolene - yeah I've tried WW, too many calories for me - I gain weight on it, I can maintain if I bring the points down low but then it's the same as counting calories for me I figure why bother looking up everything I eat because I don't kow the points. I usually just stick the same low cal stuff I'm used to and keep it simple. Plus too much variety is bad for me - it kicks in my cravings.

oh my gosh! How could you possibly get by on only 800 to 900 calories a day!?
I'm far from a diet or weightloss expert(lol, which is obvious by looking at me hehe) but from all the reading I've done on the subject it's worse for your weight to eat too little calories.
Have you tried Weight Watchers before? I've never joined them but I did try it on my own one time. It didn't work for me because I felt like I was starving all the time because I couldn't afford all those good foods that were lower points, so my points would be gone quickly and I would be very hungry. But if you're able to eat that few calories a day then maybe Weight Watchers would work for you, you would certainly be able to eat more then 800 or 900 calories a day.

I would love to do Jenny Craig, but the cost is absolutely insane! I would have to spend on food for just me for one week more then I spend on my entire family for a whole month of eating most months. Wanting to lose weight or not, that is just not practical. Easy I guess for these celebrities who don't have to worry about watching every penny they spend LOL.

I'll come clean - I actually came here to find out the name of this blog's owner because I want to send her (I'm pretty sure it's a female :-)) a message following her kind comments at the EC Forums re my other site being flagged by Google. (Did you get all that???)

Well, I haven't found the name but I couldn't help looking at the couple of comments here and so...here I am...leaving one myself!

What I was prompted to say upon reading the comment here about struggling with weight loss is something that you all probably know: the way we perceive something creates it.

Consequently, if we view a situation as being a 'weight loss' situation, it will be created in that way - a situation where there is weight to be lost. In other words, it doesn't really achieve the end result we want which is less about 'weight loss' and more about 'good self esteem/image' and 'great figure' and 'perfect health'.

The brain is not very efficient at processing 'don't do's' i.e. thoughts that reflect a negative instruction. However, an affirmative instruction like 'I want to feel good about myself/body' or 'I am creating the health/figure/confidence that I want and enjoy' is something that it can handle very effectively and it also leaves you feeling great.

I am not talking about affirmations here but affirmative instructions/intentions.

Anyway, I just thought I would mention this since I am here...

Love to all, Lucy
