The other night I had a very vivid and powerful dream. It had a deep emotional impact on me, and in some respects I feel it is life changing, at least on the level that my awareness and views of the world and myself are shifting and healing as a result.
I posted the details here, The Dream, The Spirits, The Lesson (on my other blog that I co-author with my best friend). I hope you will take the time to read it because the lesson in the dream is universal and not just something I needed to learn and experience.
I am a firm believer that our dreams are important and that we should pay attention to what our subconscious mind has to say to us while we sleep. I am still processing the dream and feeling it’s effects emotionally and physically, but I know it is all part of the healing and cleansing process, as old emotional baggage is cleared away.
I had gotten out of the habit of keeping a dream journal, since I wasn’t sleeping much for the past 14 or longer years, which meant I wasn’t dreaming either (or at least not remembering any). But now that I’m sleeping better (ever since my trip to Womon Gathering and learning Reiki) I am aslo dreaming again. I will definitely start keeping a notebook near my bedside.
Have you had any vivid dreams? Do you keep a dream journal?

I haven’t kept a dream journal, but think I should. Sometimes during the day I have flash backs and realize they are fragments of dreams that I have had. I hardly ever can bring up the memory of the whole dream though. I should be writing it down.

Perhaps if you start keeping a journal, your recall will get better. At least that is what the dreams books say happens.

Interesting article there may well be significance to what you say. Dream are about letting you mind wonder the subconscious and indeed do affect your mental health. More to be learnt in the future. Thanks for sharing your blog.

I don’t keep a dream journal because I remember my dreams rather well. Almost all of the vivid ones either involve good friends from High School (and it’s been over 25 years!) or water. I know water means emotions and since the water always seems threatening, I guess that means my emotions are, too. But my old friend? I haven’t figured that out yet, though it’s always good to see them in Dream Land.
