Weight: 235
Gain 1 lb - this is a good thing, smallest gain weeks.
The rapid weight gain started back in early December when started to do more exercise, after trying to take the advice of my general . I had gone to her for a flu shot and wanted to discuss the plateau I had hit, because I hadn’t lost any weight in a few months. She said she wouldn’t talk to me until I was working out an hour a day to the point of exhaustion and pain. Well that isn’t going to happen, but I did increase to about 20 minutes a day four or five times a week, and continued through the pain (which was really awful in my joints and my knee swelled until it was bigger then my head) and the weight gain, until I reached the point that I just couldn’t take it any more and stopped about mid-January. I’m still paying for it, the weight gain is still happening, but at least the terrible joint pain has gotten some what better.
The appointment with my cardiologist is this coming Friday (Mar. 28) - and we will go over the test results of the stress test and echo cardiagm that I had done recently (annual followup) and hopefully the cardologist can stop the inflammation, fluid retention, and help me to at least get back to the 194.5 that I was stuck at before. After all this, at least it makes hitting a plateau for several months seems like a good thing - so now if I can just get back there I promise I won’t complain too much about not being able to lose any more.
For the record here is a review of the weight gains for past several weeks from my lowest weight yet on this diet.

I would be very interested to know what causes the fluid retention as I suffer greatly from it but my doctor will not even discuss a referral. I just get given what retention tablets which make me pee loads.
Doctors think overweight people just slob around at home, never work and can stop by the toilet all day! I really do not feel overweight people are treated seriously by the UK health establishment!
Hope you start to lose again soon and all is well.

Thanks for stopping by everyone.
Mrs Yo-Yo Dieter - I really think you need to have a cardiologist checkup. I know how hard it is to find a new a doctor - I’ve done it three times in the past few years, and will probably do it again sometime this year if things don’t improve with my primary when I see her again. No doctor is perfect, but with each change I found out something new and made an improvement to my health.
The first doctor told me I’d always be fat so don’t even try.
Second doctor found out I had been misdiagnosed by the first and took me off the thyroid medication the first one had me on.
Third doctor got me to the cardiologist where I found I had congestive heart failure so at least I have medication now and can research on my own the best course of action even if the doctor isn’t always helpful.
Don’t give up! We all deserve quality medical care.
