Local Organic Farmers are closer then you think and definitely worth the trip.
Comrade Go-Go has a wonderful post titled Edible Sunshine, about her trip to an organic farm near her. It’s been way to cold around here for me to think about going out to a farm, but after reading her post I’m excited to get out and find some organic produce and other healthy farm items.
She included a great link (which I also added to my resource link page here) , Local Harvest.org, a site that helps you find organic farmers’ markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies.

Thank you so much for the mention! I definitely had a great time at the farm and felt really good about making some of my produce purchases there

So often I am surprised by the reluctance people, who are trying to live a healthier life, are to enjoy the earths’ bounty. One of the many diets I have tried in my life, encouraged me to ‘shop the perimeter’. This means that all the good stuff at your supermarket are on the outside walls; Dairy, Meat, Produce. All the stuff that has been chemically enhanced is in the aisles.
Here in Oregon, most every community has a farmers market. Here in Pendleton, my wife and I volunteer at ours and some local folks are trying to get a food co-op off the ground. I encourage you, check out the website Lady Rose linked to, find the freshest produce you can and eat the fuel the way Mother Nature intended it!
