Take the Honesty Challenge (are you brave enough?)

Take the Honesty List Challenge - share your Honesty List in the comments here or on your blog - let me know and I will link back to you (a link back would be appreciated but not required).

It can be about any positive change you need to make to get healthy and be happy. Being honest with yourself, and making it public is a great way to keep motivated to reach your goals.

Here at the Diet Pulpit we believe in honesty - and most importantly being honest with yourself. (We also try to not take ourselves to seriously!).

In hopes that it may inspire others to get healthy and make positive changes, I will share my Honesty List, the 10 reasons I knew it was time to make healthy changes and include a diet as part of the plan. (My journey began a year ago on May 1, 2006, a complete summary can be found here.)

Goals - to be healthy, May 1, 2006 starting weight: 293.5 lb. Update (4/28/07) current weight 1 year later 218 lbs, total lost so far 75.5 lbs.)

Lady Rose’s Honesty List

  1. She owned only loafers (she couldn’t bend to tie her shoes).
  2. She owned only pants with elastic waists (self explanatory).
  3. Her dream house was a one story (no stairs at all) with a master bedroom that combined a bedroom-kitchen-bathroom all in one.
  4. Her thighs rubbing together could start a forest fire.
  5. Brushing her hair was a workout and left her gasping for air.
  6. Climbing one flight of steps felt like it required a portable oxygen tank (carried by someone else).
  7. She considered a whole pizza with extra cheese an appetizer.
  8. The TV remote was the heaviest thing she could lift.
  9. Grocery shopping was her idea of an Olympic event.
  10. Upon reaching the age of 50 (while lying on the surgical table with a tube being run up a major vein to look for blockages), she decided that she wanted to be in shape (and round was not the shape she wanted to be in)
