Here is a brief follow up to my weighin this past Saturday (that was another huge weight gain for no reason).
There is a little improvement, so far after two days of supplements I lost 4.5 lbs in two days, and my left knee is already an inch smaller. It is still very painful, but I was able to bend it just enough to get my pants on by myself this morning.
I also noticed I could breathe a bit better today and there is less pressure on my chest. So I think the herbal diuretics are helping and at least some of the fluid seems to be decreasing.
I have dieted so many times in the 40 years (the first one at about age 12, trying to lose 5 or 10 lbs of preteen weight). Each and every time I would hit a wall and the weight would never budge lower and eventually I would give up. When I hit mid-life, when I would hit that wall, the weight would also start to pile on again for no reason and eventually I’d give up and I’d end up weighing a ton more then when I started in a very short amount of time.
But this time I will NOT give up. I will NOT let it happen again. I will eat healthy no matter what. The scale will not rule my life. At age 52, I feel that this is really my last chance and I refuse to be defeated by my body.
Doctors have never been able to help, their advice ranging from one who kept me on diet pills for almost a decade, another telling me to stop eating and the rest telling me to eat LESS (definitely NOT more), one telling me to just give up I’ll always be fat, and another saying I should exercise till I was ready to pass out. But I will figure out what I need to do and one way or another I will get healthy and get to a healthy weight.
My long term goal is still to one day reach 140 lbs, but I’m not going to even think about that much. My focus for now is to get under 200, and to take life one day at time and my health one pound at time.
