Hi Amanda and Cathering thanks for the kind words and for stopping by.

Amanda - my doctor, cardiologist and a nutritionist ALL approve of my diet plan. Every medically supervised diet plan I've ever look at and the one's I've followed over the years all fall between 800 to 1000 calories a day. I appreciate your concern - but I have been consulting with my doctor and cardiologist and they all agree to keep doing what I'm doing. For my height and age I only need 1400 calories to maintain - so if I ate 1500 calories I would GAIN weight. In order to lose a lb a week, I need to reduce calories by 500 calories a day. Also all the foods I eat are packed with vitamins - veggies, fruit, whole grains (i.e., Salba). This discussion comes up time and time and time again - and rather then rehash it all here, I decided to just post a full summary for Jan. 2 post.

Ok so i understand that you are trying to lose weight and that it was a huge shock to have gained during the holidays b ut i was shocked when i read that you are not allowing yourself more than 900 calories a day. It is unhealthy and you are not recieving the needed amount of calories for your body to function. it is written that the human body requires 1500 calories. If you do not eat the required amount of calories, your body will think that you are starving it and it will store up most of what you ate when you are wanting the reverse (lose weight).
