Weight: 194.5    (weight loss this week 1 lb, and lost the 2 lbs gained last week for no reason, which makes a total of 99 lbs lost so far from the starting weight of 293.5)

I have lots of updates and plans to share this week - not just weight and food - like my new tattoo photos below!.

Food for the week:   breakfast oatmeal with 2 TBL Salba and 1 TBL pear butter (pure pears no additives) 30 calories; lunch and dinner Quinoa and veggies (on 2 nights I had a skinless chicken breast with a little less quinoa and veggies), snack: 2 apples.

The SALBA (a powerhouse whole grain)  I started using this week has really been keeping my appetite under control (I add 1 to 2 TBL of ground salba to my oatmeal) - I don’t get hungry for hours (even after being out xmas shopping all morning).  And I seem to have a lot more energy throughout the day too - I am guessing it’s from all the great nutrients in Salba.  (Read my post about it HERE.)

Also I’ve been using the Natural Woman Progesterone Cream, Dr. John Lee for three weeks now (taking the 4th week off as recommended).  My symptoms do seem to be a lot less - no hot flashes, didn’t wake up as much from night sweats, and I do seem to be sleeping a bit more soundly and feeling more rested because of it.

This month I have a planned “indulgence day” - don’t faint from shock folks.   Usually I would NOT part take in any way shape or form in the food part of celebrations or holidays (i.e. for Thanksgiving dinner I only had turkey and green beans).   However, Dec. 22 we are celebrating my sister’s 40th birthday, and my other sister and I are treating the entire family to breakfast at Cracker Barrel - they have the most awesome French Toast with blackberries.  So in celebration of the birthday and the upcoming holiday - I have decided to have a planned “indulgence day” and enjoy them - it will be followed by strick adherance to my healthy food plan the rest of the day and the next day and all the following days there after until I reach my goal weight (and at that point on I plan to continue eating healthy, maintain my new weight, and occassionally allow an “indulgence day” from time to time).  I figure it’s a good lesson in learning to handle a little treat and I’m also in a good place emotionally and mentally so I am confident it will not trigger a binge eating spree - I am learning to trust myself a bit around food and this will be a good test of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned.

To top things off I have all my Christmas shopping done and this weekend I will get the xmas cards mailed and gifts wrapped.  I am just sooooo thrilled to be done this early!   I even have some shopping and plans for gifts to make for next year already.   I have also been in a crocheting phase again - during Thanksgiving vacation I made Teacherman (hubby) a lovely soft grey scarf, finished up a white and green scraf for donating.  I am about 90% done a lovely blue rectangular shawl (gift for my mom) and about 1/3 of the way done a varigated purples and white big granny square blanket (gift for a friend).  I will be sure to post photos when these are done.     I also bought the yarn for a poncho for my daughter (she asked me to make her one), and some plum (in a dark and a light shade) for a couple projects for me.

Also this week I have something to share a little more interesting then just my current weight and food intake for the week - New Tattoo Pictures.  For my 50th birthday two years ago I celebrated by getting two tattoos and did the same this year with the one’s below in celebration of my 52nd Birthday.

NOTE: photo quality isn’t that great, they look much much better in person.

BASE OF THE NECK - ying/yang symbol with rose in center, this is an original design by the tattoo artist for me (my middle name is Rose) - he said he had never done a rose this small before:

Next year (or year after) I will get two more tattoos, one each on the inside of the wrists - not sure what these will be yet, but probably a small moon design on the left and a sun design on the right.

FYI: I get my tattoos done by Jay at Tattoo South Side, Rt. 8 South, Howell, NJ - Jay only works on Sundays - I highly recommend him (although the folks at the shop are good too, two friends of mine have a lot of their tattoos done there).

I hope everyone has a terrific, awesome, super wonderful weekend!
