I was thinking the other day that with all the computer know how and technological expertise in the world wouldn’t it be nice if there were some truly useful and helpful dieting tools that could be invented that would make losing weight easier. Here are some of my ideas:
Calorie Counting Fork (or a fork and spoon set): programmable for your calorie needs; keeps track of the calories and beeps when you have reached your limit for each meal or snack, would be useful for maintaining too.
All in One Exercise Outfit: why go to the gym when you can wear an exercise power suit; various thin strips of weights could be added to inside pockets and seams, so that every day activities become weight training and you burn more calories just going about your day.
Wrist Watch with a hand to mouth alarm: whenever your hand gets to close to your mouth an alarm goes off, so no more sneaking a snack or mindless nibbling. This would also help to stop biting fingernails. To make it even more useful besides telling time and beeping, it could also have a step counter feature and even a pulse moniter too.
What are some inventions you’d like to see? Have you spotted an odd or interesting invention that was actually made? Did you try it?

Great question! Of course it would be nice if they made broccoli that looked and tasted just like chocolate cake. But I’m thinking that’s a long-shot.
The one I keep hoping for is an adult playground (no, not THAT kind of Adult playground. Not XXX.) But one that had exercise equipment designed like rides. Human powered rollercoasters that you had to pedal to the top of the track; big bungee/trampoline things, and basically just Extreme Grown up versions of playground equipment like swings and merry-go-rounds etc. — so your “workout” could be fun. A treadmill–not fun.
OK, so I’m a little immature…

I’ll take the calorie counting fork! That would be awesome. Heres something we can add to it. If it beeps when you have reached your calorie intake and you go to take another bite it sends a small shock to your lips. just kidding. But I do like the idea of something telling you “Ok you have reached your limit, STOP.”

Hi Crabby and Nicole, thanks for stopping by.
Crabby I think that is a fun idea! I would definitely go play at an adult playground – add a spa too for a nice massage, facial and manicure as a reward after playing.
Nicole – the shock would be an interesting addition, the voltage could be made to increase with each additional bite you go over your limit ****evil giggle***
