Don’t be a fool, eat for fuel.
Good morning one and all. This morning’s Weighty Wisdom topic is about how to be happier based on an old article I wrote long ago. After the events of this past week I felt it was an appropriate subject to help us all remember what is truly important in life – to enjoy each and every moment. Don’t wait to be happy or live your life to fullest – do it now! Don’t let the numbers on the scale or the size of your waist hold you back from experiencing joy and love. As the saying goes, “don’t worry, be happy!”
Smile More
Studies prove that smiling – even when you don’t feel like it – actually makes you feel happier.
Be Happy With What You Have
Count your blessings. Be grateful for even the small gifts life has given you.
Be Spiritual
However you see it, belief in a Higher Power can provide peace, happiness, and strength to get through tough times.
Spend Time With Those You Love
Share jokes or share troubles. Bonding with others makes you feel less isolated.
Look For Silver Linings
Whenever possible look for even the tiniest positive that can come from a negative occurrence.
Find Pleasure In Little Things
A sunset or children’s laughter; the smell of dinner cooking; the color of autumn leaves; be aware of your surroundings and find the beauty there.
Help Others
Be compassionate. Donate time, donate money, donate unneeded clothing and give whatever you can.
Make Thoughtful Choices
How will you spend your time, your effort, your energy, and your money? Think before you act and be aware of the reasons why you are making those choices.
Be Honest
With yourself and with those around you. Not only do lies tend to come back to haunt you. But no one can ever really know what you want or need unless you tell them.
Be True To Yourself
Do what you enjoy doing. Don’t let the opinions of others dictate your life. Do what your heart tells you is right. Follow your true path.
Have Goals
Know what you want out of life. Be willing to work hard to get there.
Have Dreams
Even if they seem out of your reach today. Be willing to work hard to get there.
Harm None
Take a hard look at the things you do and say in your life. At all your actions, or inactions, and their consequences. Do whatever you can to have your life bring happiness and health to yourself, your loved ones, and your environment and not harm.
Wishing everyone health and happiness, today and every day.
