Just for fun - here is a list of various diets I’ve tried over the last 40 years - any of them similar to one’s you have tried? Feel free to tell us about diets you’ve tried - which one’s didn’t work out so well and one’s that worked.

For historical purposes I am creating this anthology of Diets that myself and others have tried that have NOT worked, so that we can learn from our past and not have to travel down these roads again. As the saying goes - the sign of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. We may be a bit insane, but rather then trying a diet over and over again that fails, lets all eat for fuel eating and enjoy life.

If you would like to contribute to the Antholgoy please leave a comment below.

See-Food Diet - see food, eat it! (self-explanatory)
Denial Diet - What do you mean potato chips are not a veggie? Why not eat a half gallon of ice cream, isn’t it a good source of calcium? Of course pizza is a health food, it has all the major food groups on it, so why not eat the whole thing?
I’m Dieting on Monday Weekend Binge Diet - similar to the see-food diet, eat everything in sight with an emphasis on favorite foods, no veggies or fruits - because on Monday a low-calorie diet begins.
It’s the Holidays Diet - (Lady Rose’s favorite diet from the past) begins with my birthday Oct. 30 and lasts through Sept. 1 (my wedding anniversary) - each month there is a holiday, birthday or special event to celebrate so might as well put off starting a healthy eating plan until Sept. 2 (which then only lasts until my birthday rolls around again on Oct. 30).
I Blew It, (so might as well eat anything I want) Diet - similar to all the diets above, begins after a slip up on a healthy eating plan and can last several days, weeks, and even months.
I Give Up Diet - begins after a week or a few weeks of hitting a plateau with no weight lost while on a healthy eating plan, can last several days, week, and even months.
I Will Die From Hunger Diet - similar to the See-Food and Denial Diet, with a focus on lots of pizza, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, and other high-fat, high-carb food choices that are very filling.
Crumbs Don’t Count Diet - which involves crumbling lots of foods and eating crumbs, but crumbs have no calories right? (similar symptoms as the Denial Diet)

The Vanilla Ice Cream and Maple Syrup Diet - resulted in the first time reaching 300 pounds.

If you have a post about a diet you’d like to have added, leave a comment and I’ll be sure to add it to the list.
