I gave it a try last night - but I need to give it a better try tonight before I can decide how I feel about it. The Fluidity is like having a dancer’s bar in your living room - very sturdy, folds up easily and has wheels so it can be stored out of the way (i.e. behind the couch) but still be convenient to use.
Yesterday for some reason I was in a cranky mood, things were not going well, so trying to figure out how to get it set up seemed more frustrating that it really is. It is fully assembled out of the box - but there are just a few adjustments to make (i.e. height of the bar). My daughter was out with a friend, but hubby was home watching tv - so I tried to watch the dvd on the small dvd player we have while he watched tv. The dvd kept freezing - and I could barely hear it. The instructions for how to place your feet and lift your leg, point your toe went too fast for me - but in fairness I couldn’t really hear it and I had no way to pause and rewind it and the portable dvd player screen is very small. The moves seemed easy enough - but boy could I feel it - but with the dvd freezing, I was also holding positions probably twice as long as the count was.
I ended up only trying it out for 20 minutes - I am not sure how much longer the work out is. Tonight I will have the house to myself for over an hour when I get home so I will be able to put the dvd on the big screen tv and have the remote near me to pause it and rewind if need be to hear the instructions.
The moves seem very nice - stretching and holding, while using the bar for balance. I don’t think the instructions need to be overly done slowly because once you get the hang of it, they will be easy enough - what I will tonight also before using the dvd is go through the booklet and look over the pictures in it to get a better idea of positioning.
I have high hopes about this piece of equipment - it seems to really work the muscles, but without a lot of jumping and getting up and down off the floor (two things I dislike about exercise). For cardio I have my stationary bike - and now the air conditioner is in the window right by where the bike is so I will be more inclined to use it again (I had worked up to 30 mins a day 5 days a week - but slacked off with the heat and being overly exhausted from the big Harry Potter party two weeks ago).
At least I got my butt up and moving again!
