I came across a news article Maintaining Weight Loss: Keeping an Eye on the Pounds that suggests weighing yourself every day after you have lost all the weight you need to lose.
I agree that keeping an eye on the scale is important – but perhaps 2 or 3 times a week would be enough. The point is to be aware of what you eat, the choices you make, and the results on a regular basis — because it is way to easy to gain weight back, and often even more then what was originally lost.
If is never too early to start planning for the maintenance phase of a healthy diet and exercise program. By keeping an eye on the scale, you can catch any minor weight gains and make corrections as needed, without having to deal with a much larger weight gain and a longer and harder to deal with diet phase again if you just go back to the old habits and don’t watch the scale.
Keep in mind though that the scale is JUST a tool, and is not a reflection of you are a person and shouldn’t rule your life.
