In roaming around the web I found this very useful site: Calories per hour.com. It has all the calculators you could ever want and lots of useful information too. Having the facts about what your body needs can help in establishing a healthy eating plan.
Doing some quick calculations for myself -at my current weight it only takes 1,652 calories a day to maintain it (that really is NOT a lot of calories). In order to lose 1 lb a week I would need to take in NO more then 1,152 calories a day (-500 calories for 7 days = 3500 calories which is equal to one pound). Which makes my 800 to 900 calories a day seem reasonable, since it really isn’t that much less then what I would need to consume for just 1 lb a week.
To achieve my goal weight at that level of -500 a day, it will take 22 months.
About two years is doable. Faster would be better, but if I can do it in two years that would be great since at the rate I’m going (gaining and losing the same few pounds week after week) it feels like it could take 10 years or more or even never.
Slow and steady I will see some improvement if I stick with it and I don’t give up. I can make it all the way!
