Weight 235 No overall loss – but at least I’m back where I was at week 32.

At this rate I will be dieting for at least 8 more years, if I can manage to lose 1 lb a month. *sigh* But whatever it takes I’m going to do it!

I have had my exercise bike for about two weeks now, but no one has been able to figure out how to turn it on – we have read the booklet 4 times and it has nothing about how to start it — also it came with a plug, but we can’t find any where to attach a plug to the bike (in the store they said the computer thingy was run by a battery). So I haven’t been able to use it yet. I have to find the time to get to the store and have them show me.

I also bought an exercise thingy from sharper image (it is for toning the core muscles and abs) — I tried it at the store and it felt great for the back too, it stretches the back in a wonderful backwards arch. But I have spent over a week trying to put it together — and well, as usual it isn’t going together — one piece is about a 1/2 inch too small and can’t be attached. Everything else went smoothly — until this last piece. I should have known though — in my 51 years of life I have NEVER ever had anything I bought work or put together correctly and it always ends up tossed out or piled in the garage with all the other junk. But eventually I’ll get it all figured out and working.

And to make my day just perfect — hubby wants to go out to eat tonight. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE going out to eat (I prefer not dealing food at all if possible), but I’m trying to get over that and learn to go with the flow. I will bring my own dressing (0 calories) and have a big plate of lettuce (which will cost almost $20 at the buffet) — it is a HUGE waste of money. But besides the expensive — I have to smile, make small talk, and pretend to be having a great time out — while I have to smell and look at all kinds of food that I can NEVER EVER touch again. Plus I usually gain a couple pounds just from smelling foods. I think it’s some kind of hormonal response that causes water weight gain — but every time I’ve tested it by getting on the scale after hubby cooks something at home that fills the house with a nice aroma, sure enough I have gained a couple lbs. of weight.

But I promised myself I would try and be more positive and focused with the New Year — so no more complaining.

On a positive note my protein powder and extend bars came. So starting tomorrow for breakfast and lunch I will have the protein powder with water (20 grams of protein for 80 calories x 2) and for dinner an extend bar (150 calories, 10 grams of protein) — to round out the day I’ll have an apple (100 calories) and a bag of frozen veggies (150 calories) – which will give me all daily the protein I need, 5 servings of veggies and 1 of fruit for a grand total of 600 calories, plus my morning coffee with fat free creamor for another 50. On days when I am very very hungry I will add some plain air popped popcorn (no more that 200 calories worth). I am taking multi-vitamins and calcium supplements so all my nutritional needs will be met.

The protein powder is great — it’s double the protein and half the calories of what Slim Fast is. Plus since it is unflavored, I can add it to almost anything – broth, crystal light, even my coffee – for a little variety.

Only 95 more lbs to lose!!!! I can do it, I will succeed.
