Weight 260.5, loss for this week 2 lbs; (total so far: 33 lbs)

Was hoping for more - but won’t complian, just grumble a bit. I had peeked on Saturday and I had lost more - but I guess yesterday caused a weight gain.

We took my mom (for her birthday) on a boat tour to see the dolphins - I had packed enough healthy snacks and Crystal Light for the car ride to and from (approx. a 6 1/2 hour day trip with four hours of that being tavel time).

However, hubby decided to stop in and see his best friend who lives near the shore since we were close by. We stayed a few hours there, between the heat (close to 100) and the long day I was feeling very dizzy and starving. Of course everyone is offering me food (lunch meat, wheat thin veggie baked crackers, etc. — most low calorie things but of course very high in sodium) which I had to say no to.

In desperation I finally caved in and had 8 crackers (about 110 calories and 300 mg of sodium — so I figured they would replace my big bowl of popcorn I had planned when I got home).

I was able to get more Crystal Light to stay hydrated but I was desparate to have some kind of filling food but still didn’t want to blow all my calories either because I had a nice dinner planned when I got home — my mom wanted me to eat a hard boiled egg, but I was like no way (80 calories for two bites of egg that won’t do a thing for my hunger, and I’d have to give up my chicken breast at home (130 calories) that would help my hunger; I had already sacrificed my filling bowl of popcorn and didn’t want to give up any more). [Note to self - my common sense goes out the window when I get over hungry.]

Any way we eventually headed home and I only had 2 more hours to survivie — I got through it, resisted 90% of the temptations, without passing out and felt a whole lot better once I ate at home.

I’m still feeling dizzy this morning, but I’m managing. I just stand up slowly and don’t turn around very quickly. I think the doctor definitely needs to get me off this blood pressure medication or lower the dosage — because I think it’s dropping my blood pressure to low now that I’m eating very low sodium. I see the cardiologist Fri. afternoon so not too much longer to wait before I can discuss with her.

I am also super hungry today — usually a banana is all I need for breakfast, but I have had gnawing hunger pains all morning no matter how much water or Crystal Light I drink. Two hours after my banana I had my afternoon snack already too - cherry tomatoes, becasue I couldn’t stand it any more I was so hungry. I just hope lunch will be able to get me through the afternoon (I have a big bowl of broccoli planned). I am hoping it’s just a carry over from having gotten so hungry yesterday.

Tonight I will have a big bowl of air popped popcorn after dinner and hopefully feel full again, once I get “full” again I think my body will stop sending out signals that I’m starving and need to eat food and lots of it. Lots of deep breaths and lots of liquids — I’ll survive.
