Lady Rose’s Heavenly Lemonade
If you’re like me, you may have trouble getting enough water into you. I have given up diet sodas, and making good progress in giving up Crystal Light as well. I probably never will be a big fan of just plain water so I was determined to find a healthy way of having a sugar free beverage that was at least the next best thing.
Here’s my recipe:
Four tea bags (what every flavor you like; my favorites: white tea and raspberry or red zinger), steep in four cups of water, let cool.
Add 1 cup of lemon juice (5 or 6 fresh squeezed lemons), mixed with four cups of water.
(Note: green and white tea have lots of antioxidants, lemon juice is very alkalizing which is healthy for the body.)
For sweetener I’ve made it two ways:
1 cup of Sweet Perfection (no calories, all natural, won’t spike your blood sugar, adds fiber, measures like sugar but is made from a root – no after taste).
OR 12 packets of Stevita Stevia Supreme (all natural sweetner, stablizes blood sugar, very sweet – need less amount then you would if using sugar, no after taste for most people)
Adjust the amount of lemon and sweetner for your taste, or if you don’t mind Splenda you could use that too. Chill and\or serve over ice.
Enjoy and remember stay hydrated!
