Monday I started a new diet plan (medically supervised, they provide 5 meal packets and I cook one lean and green meal. So far it is going ok.
Day 1 (Monday) – Morning ok, afternoon hungry, and had a headache. After work felt exhausted, went to bed right after dinner and slept like a log. This is normal, as the body adjusts.
Day 2 – Felt much better, had an allowed snack (3 celery sticks) with lunch, was just enough to feel good the rest of the day. Didn’t get tired early and went to bed regular time. Wasn’t too hungry during the day or at night. Brought in an extra pre-packaged meal just in case, but didn’t need it. (I had spoken with my health advisor and she said if needed could have extra prepared meal rather then something else).
Day 3 Felt great and not hungry (which is a miracle because I am usually constantly hungry). Had the allowed snack (3 celery sticks) with lunch. NOTE: in the morning had one bite of scrambled egg that hubby had left in the pan from his breakfast – it was protein so not a big slipup. It just smelled so darn good.
Day 4 So far so good, and not hungry (a true miracle!) I think I’m going to be able to stick with this program. The first three days are the roughest as the body adjusts, but I’m feeling really good today. I have stuck with the 5 prepared meals and 1 lean and green meal and I am really looking forward to my weighin on Saturday.
Beverages – no diet soda (gave it up July 29). Day 2 and 3 I had a tsp of coffee to my first morning shake (I still need the caffeine, I think that is why I had a headache the first day and 3 caffeine drinks are allowed). I have two 32-oz plastic drinking bottles that I use for crystal light, so I’m keeping hydrated (been using those for the weeks I’ve been off soda). I started this week to add a splash of lemon to each (lemon helps keeps the body more alkaline). Plus I drink a bit of water whenever I think of it.
Exercise – none yet (Mon. & Tues. physically didn’t feel up to it), but today I am feeling good so I plan on getting in a walk or stationary bike for 30 mins. With this plan the first three weeks don’t really call for exercise, but if you do keeping it light is recommended.
I ordered the variety pack for four weeks (get a bonus free week of meals). The food provided tastes ok so far (i.e. soups, bars, shakes, oatmeal, pudding) – I’m not crazy about the strawberry shakes. My favorite so far is the banana pudding. I still have lots of other flavors and things to try out yet. Next months orders I’ll reorder my favorites from this pack and add a few new things to try out.
I had my daughter take new photos last night of me in a one-piece bathing suit. There won’t be much difference from the updated photos from this past May, but I figured I’d have these new ones to record the start of this new phase on the medically supervised diet plan. I will get those posted in a day or two.
