Flabuless Diva has tagged me for the very cool challenge (meme), and I am in turn tagging all of you.
This meme fits right in with my firm commitment to the F.A.T. Attitude (living life fabulous, awesome and tenacious no matter what size) and it is also very empowering and fun so here goes.
From Flabuless Diva: The “Just as I am” challenge to bloggers is that instead of concentrating on the negative points of why you want to loose weight and what you hate about yourself…to write 5 points about who you are and why you are ok just like that, they can be quirky, embarrassing, brutally honest, boring it doesn’t matter…You are perfect, you are unique and you should accept yourself with all your quirks–’Just as you are’.
It will be a list that you might need to revisit every day for the next year to remind yourself, that you are ok, and your life is going to turn out ok…but more importantly it will be an affirmation to yourself and the first step in appreciating YOU just as you are.
If you wish to participate, consider yourself tagged, and write a comment here with the url to your post and I will add your link to this post and let Flabuless Diva know so she can also add your links to a list she is putting together. Her full explanation is posted HERE (you can leave your link there too is you would like).
Here is my list - Five Just As I Am List by Lady Rose:
1) I have been known to be extremely silly and will do so in public and love it! Just this past weekend I went with a small group of friends dressed in full “witch outfit” (hat, robe, and flowing cape) to see Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. A couple of friends were also decked out in wizard and witch garb. We got a lot of strange looks and few “Happy Halloween” shoutouts, to which I smiled, waved and shouted back “Happy Harry Potter.” Afterwards we hung out for a little bit in front of the theater and I tried giving away my left over boxes of Bertie Bot beans - which was harder then I thought - most people were not sure what to do when approached and just walked away shaking their heads. But eventually I found three folks who were giggling as they went by who finally said yes to my offer. It was a ton of fun! Imagine the stories they have to tell when they go home. LOL
2) I hate shoes, I own only three pair - sandels I wear almost all the time when I need to wear shoes (which I kick off at work and home as soon as I arrive); sneakers I only wear once there is snow on the ground; one pair of black dress shoes for those times when you just have to dress up (weddings, funerals, etc.). I love being barefoot and have no plans to change!
3) I have two tattoos and plan to get a few more. My first one I got when I turned 50. I do so love the expression on people’s faces when I offer to show them my dragon. (Perhaps one of these days I’ll get a photo up of it.)
4) I hate cleaning house and I’m just fine with it. I am determined to get a bit more organized - because we have no little room and it is getting to way over the top cluttered. But spending time with my family comes first, and since I work full time and have a lot of different fun things I’d rather be doing, housework will never be high on the list.
5) I have an obsession with books and own a ton! Just ordered 5 today from Amazon. ssssshhhhhh don’t tell hubby!
