Deliteful Foods, a great place to shop and every a dieter’s dream come true – good food that is good for you.
Deliteful Foods carries a full line of specialty foods under one roof – WW points friendly, gluten-free, low calorie, low carb, low fat, organic, Kosher, sugar-free, vegetairan, portion-controlled. This is not a health food store filled with mostly vitamins and protein shakes, this is a shop filled with a variety healthy real foods that are suitable for any kind of weight loss, or allergy sensitive or health conscious dieter.
It is a dieter’s dream come true! I swear the angels sang Hallelujah! when I walked in the door. When I walked into this “deliteful” shop I was greeted by the owner with a smile and a warm welcome to try as many samples as I wanted and ask any questions I may have. She was busy behind the counter helping customers, but each person in the store was greeted and helped. From the moment you step inside you know that this shop is a labor of love.
I wanted to find some food items to do reviews on, but was skeptical that I would find anything that I would fit my very low calorie eating plan – but boy was I wrong! The shop may look small, but it is crammed full with neat shelves and freezers with all kinds of wonderful, interesting food options. Everything was well organized and easy to find. In the center of the store is a round table with lots of glass jars with lids and spoons so you can sample a wide variety of crunchy selections. Almost every item on the shelves had a small tag underneath it displaying how many Weight Watchers points the product is. The freezer section was amazing – there were soups, full meals and so much more that only needed to be heated in a microwave. The selections were so much better then the supermarket mass produced frozen meals.
I finally decided on a package of 3 spinach knishes (only 150 calories each). As I was checking out I mentioned I am on very little calories and she suggested a few other items. I selected a bag of veggie crunchies (70 calories x 2 servings) and a bag of dried pineapple (only 30 calories). I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful the pineapple was. The crunchies were good. The knishes were awesome, and I will be getting more – perhaps getting the broccoli ones next time.
If you live in New Jersey, or if you are visiting New Jersey and can stop by you really should. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed and will find many wonderful tasty items to suit your healthy eating plan. I am only 10 minutes away so who knows you may see me there, because I will doing a lot of my shopping there from now on.

Sounds very good, but my only caution would be when I read “sugar free” I instantly think of an artificial sweetner of chemical origin, the kind that don’t taste real to me but rather leave my throat dry and, if I eat enough, with a headache (I’m taking about aspartame). If the sugar alternatives are non-chemical in nature, I’d love to know more.
