I have been sticking with my eating plan even though I have taken a bit of a break from blogging these past few weeks. I’ve been feeling like I’m in a state of limbo and out of sorts lately for various reasons, and I haven’t been able to muster up the energy to do much of anything. Almost all my energy and attention is focused on one driving force each and every day – ignoring the raging hunger and NOT eating very much in order to be sure to lose a few pounds at each weighin so I can be approved for the gastric bypass surgery. Even though I have a date scheduled for the surgery (Aug. 6) – the insurance won’t approve it until the last minute, and then I have to scramble and get in a few last minute required pre-op tests including bloodwork and another office weighin; all of which I have to pass in order to actually get the surgery – the very thought of the possibility that the surgery might not be approved just wears me out and makes me stressed so I try not to think about it.

Having all that looming over my head has me drained emotionally and mentally. I didn’t know until just a few weeks ago that there was so much left to do. I had finished everything I thought I had to do and was walking on cloud nine but I found out about all the last minute stuff at my office last month when they went over a new list of things to do.

July 22nd is almost here – the day I start my pre-op diet, which is JUST liquid protein a few times a day with some veggies if needed. Since I have done so well with my monthly weighins, the director told me I could have one serving of lean protein (i.e. fish or chicken) at dinner if I wanted too. I am going to try very, very, very hard to do the pre-op diet with just the liquid protein and veggies because I don’t want to risk messing up my last weighin a couple days before surgery or the bloodwork that measures protein levels.

I will try to post about all that in more detail over the next couple of weeks. For now let me just get caught up on the weighins that need to be posted.

Here’s the weighins for the past few weeks

Week 16 267.5 lbs (note: Friday June 26 I had my stress test on the treadmill for a total of 3 minutes, from that overnight I gained .5 scale and it was 268 lbs – but I took it easy all day Saturday (my normal weighin day) and drank very little liquids and thankfully mananged to lose it overnight – so counting the Sunday weighin for this week

Week 17 265.5 lbs

Week 18 262.5 lbs
(Note: Following Monday July 13 – office weighin 265 lbs, which is consistent with past weighins of about 3 to 4 lbs more then home scale. Total lost on record at doctor’s office 43 lbs.)

Week 19 260.5 lbs

Total lost so far (home scale): 46 lbs
