Weight: 291.5  (which is a two pound loss since last week).  Dealing with the hunger is getting a bit harder. It definitely was roaring every single day this week, but I’m determined to stick with overcoming it and staying hungry no matter what because that is the only way I mange to drop any pounds.  I have no choice any way, since I have to lose a certain amount of weight every month between now and the gastric bypass surgery in order to qualify.

Daily diet between 800 to 950 for the week:

Breakfast:  Coffee, Extend Bar
Lunch: bag of frozen veggies or serving of homemade soup, low fat Activa yogurt
Dinner:  fish and veggie or bowl of oatmeal

I managed to avoid the office cleanup kick up party this week where lots of pizza was served. I just stayed in my cubicle and never ever went down to that end of the hallway for the rest of day. My stomach was rumbling loudly from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. when I finally got to eat dinner. No amount of disgusting water or equally icky lemon water made a dent in the gnawing demands roaring from my stomach.

I have two big events to manage this month. There is a baby shower for my niece-in-law in a couple of weeks that is being held at a very good restaurant. I plan on not eating at all while I’m there and just sipping water. It’s a lot tougher now that I’m not drinking diet soda but that’s life. I will have to order something and pretend to eat though, so I will order and get a take home box at the same time – I’ll cut everything up a little and move it around some. I will get the meal in the box as soon as I can which shouldn’t be too hard since no one is going to be paying much attention to me. Hubby and my daughter can then have it for dinner.

There one other event that is huge! The monday after Easter I will be at the White House Easter Egg Hunt. I’m very excited and wouldn’t miss it for the world. We were very lucky to have gotten tickets. A friend of mine from work and I were trying all day when the tickets became available online but were unable to get in because the server was always overloaded. However my friend had several people she knew also trying and one them managed to get the tickets.

As excited as I am about this opportunity, I am also worried. I can no longer take aspirin because of the gastritis so I am not sure how I will survive the pain levels and the swelling that will be made even worse by walking all day. As far as food, I plan on packing a few protein bars and bottles of water, and perhaps an apple or two. I will do everything in my power to NOT eat anything at all while traveling or while in Washington. This is probably unrealistic since everyone else who is going with us wants to have fun and plans on stopping at a restaurant in Washington at least for dinner. I know I will be exhausted, starving, and in massive pain by dinner time so I’m not sure if I can actually resist the urge to have a meal.

I am estimating a few pounds will be gained from the day just from the swelling and exhaustion. If I do fail and eat one meal out that will be another three or four pounds. I will only have a week before my weighin at the weight loss surgery office the following Monday so I may not have enough time to rest, reduce my fluid intake and cut my food intake down even more to lose that gain. I will just have to wait and see. This trip is too awesome to miss though, so I’m willing to risk being scolded by the director of the weight loss surgery office if I show a weight gain. I know I stick to being hungry and very little food every single day, and there is nothing I can do if he doesn’t believe me how my body reacts to one meal and moving too much. I’ll just accept whatever happens and move on the best I can.

I’ll be sure to post some pictures of our trip to Washington and the White House Easter Egg Hunt some time that week after the event April 13.
