Weight 300.5 lbs, a drop of 2.5 lbs. It was a long week but I made it. The constant gnawing hunger is always a bit difficult to deal with but I am determined to stick it out and make it week by week, day by day. I’ve been eating baby carrots, romaine lettuce, 1 to 2 Extend Bar (protein bars that stablize blood sugar for 9 hours) a day, a little bit of lean chicken, and frozen veggies like broccoli and brussel sprouts. I also had a few green smoothies this week with spinach, parsley, apple and banana. Daily calories have been between 800 to 1000.
I had two appointments this week for the weight loss surgery preparation – the breathing test and the psychiatrist. The breathing test only took 20 minutes and was easy. I just had to breath in to a tube with a clip on my nose so that I only breathed through my mouth. There were six short breathing tests all together, the last three were done after a shot from an inhaler which tests if there is an improvement. The psychiatrist was an easy visit, about 20 minutes of various questions. I managed to survive without getting committed to a rubber room.
Tomorrow I will be prepping for my appointment on Monday for the being scoped down my throat and for a colonoscopy. It means no food and taking lots of icky medication and living in the bathroom for almost 24 hours. The colonoscopy isn’t a requirement but the doctor sorta of insisted since the prep for it is the same as for the upper gi scope. But after Monday I’ll be done almost all the requirements except for my appointment with the cardiologist and that is in May.
It’s going to be looooong day tomorrow – but I’m all ready with lots of sugar free jello, low sugar apple juice and low sodium chicken broth. On Monday no food at all. The procedures are scheduled 11 a.m. on Monday so I won’t get to eat again until around 4 or 5 p.m.
So if you hear rumbling – dont worry it’s not an earthquake, it will be my stomach.
