Here are my weighins for the past two weeks: last week (#142) 307 lbs and this week (#143) 306.5 lbs. A one and half pound decrease from week #141 (on the home scale). Nice to see there wasn’t a gain for 2 weeks, but definitely not much to get excited about, especially since I will be getting weighed at the bariatric center late Monday afternoon.
Since the consultation which was my first visit there last month I gained some, and haven’t lost all of that yet. Included in my long list of things to do the director said I had to lose 5 to 10 lbs – I thought he had written it down somewhere in all the papers I had, but he didn’t so I don’t know what kind of a time frame he was talking about, so I’m guessing he meant by our next visit (which is this Monday).
Exactly how much of a weight gain will show up at the office is hard to determine because of the difference in home and office scales. Week 140 (the weekend before the first visit at home I was 303, a couples days later at the office I was 304. The week after that I gained 5 lbs on the home scale for a weight of 308 lbs.
So if the office scale shows 1 to 2 lbs more then the home scale, it will read approximately 308 lbs today – which overall is 4 lbs gain – definitely not a good first impression. I will just have to take the heat and make sure I do much better next month.
I know it is totally my fault. I was doing ok and not eating much, so I probably could have gotten by without an overall weight gain. But I caved in for the holiday when hubby for Valentine’s Day made a lovely 7 course dinner for me and our daughter. He worked all day on it, and set the table so nicely and it was all delicous. Each course was just a small serving, but it was still a lot – fruit cup, soup, salad, pasta, a little mango ice to clear the palate, main course was cornish hen, baked potato and brussel spouts, and dessert – which I was too stuffed to eat that night but had some the next day. That one meal put on a several pounds in one night and it will take a several weeks of very, very, very intense not eating to get rid of it.
There are no holidays in March. I have only one hurdle to get through though – at the end of the month our family attends a lunch get together at a Chinese restaurant with all the familys from our group who traveled to China together to pick up our daughters. We have meeting together for the past 11 years and it’s a lot of fun. The Chinese restaurant we meet at is really great and the food is very tasty and doesn’t use a lot fats or oils. I will just have to avoid eating too much, ignore the appetizers and soup and just stick with something simple like broccoli and chicken as the main course. I’ll still gain a pound or two (I always do) from the meal because of the salt content, but hopefully that will balance out with a little weight loss for the rest of the month.
I will be focusing on veggies, oatmeal, tiny amounts of fruit, and a little lean protein.
