Question – Sensual delights and food, what do they have in common?
Answer – they are both something our body craves.
Now that we have your attention, let’s get right down to some straight talk about sensual pleasures, tantalizing nerve endings firing, those delightful endorphins lighting up the pleasure centers of your brain as you experience the first burst of bodily juices in your mouth as delicious flavor washes over your tongue with each bite of your favorite enticing edible delicacy.
Unfortunately for most of you that delicacy you are consuming has been chemically altered to lure you, to seduce you, and even to “hook” you so that your body craves and yearns for even more pleasure, more indulgence, more orgasmic tongue sensations!
But I am here to help you set your feet and your tongue on a healthier path – even if I have to do it with you kicking and screaming. I will not shy away from the truth.
This week, I want you to think about two things.
One – Are you substituting Food for Sex or for Love? Is what you are craving for really a HUG or a good old fashion roll in the hay? Ahhhh, I see some of you nodding already. So next time your body is craving something (especially around that time you seek out a late night time snack) – think about what it is you really are craving (and don’t eat unless you really need the food for fuel).
Two – When was the last time you experienced the ripe, plump juiciness of a fresh fruit without the whip cream or added sugar? When was the last time you bit into a fresh, crisp veggie and savored its goodness without deep frying it first or drenching it in oily fat laden dressing? As our fellow blogger Chaotic Fat said in her post Experiencing the Joy of Food, “I want every meal to be as good as an orgasm.” And it can be! Fresh, wholesome foods are so much more orgasmic then prepackaged, artificially flavored, factory altered junk foods. Give it a try. Wean yourself off of fake orgasms from unhealthy foods and learn to indulge in the unlimited orgasmic pleasures of full bodied flavors from natural, whole foods.
One snack at time, then one meal at time – you can do it!
