Petula - medically supervised diet plans are all around 800 to 900 calories a day. I've tried eating more - and I gain tons of weight. I can sometimes maintain at about 1000-1200 a day - but any more then that and weight just piles on. I've beeb dieting for about 40 yeaers now since I tried to lose only 5 to 10 lbs when I was 13 years old - by middle age nothing else seems to work but very low calories, and now even at 800 to 900 when I can keep at that level it's almost impossible.

I had lost over 90 lbs last year, but by late summer I stopped and hit a wall - my doctor and cardiologist just keep me telling me to eat less - so that is what I try to do but 800 is about as low as I can go - I just haven't been able to get back there on a regular basis - so too many calories for my body and the congestive heart failure which leads to fluid retention - and I have been gaining steadily for months now.

This is interesting. I guess I will have to come back and read the rest of your weigh in entries 'cause I wanna know why you are only trying to eat 800 calories a week. Your metabolism is going to slow down too far and cause you to gain weight. Okay, maybe you're saying mind your own business or maybe your under a doctor's care... but, if not, please re-consider your calorie intake. No worries on the little treats though - you deserve it.

Have a good week.
