You have all heard of Thursday 13, well I’ve decided to have a Tired Thursday instead, so here are my 13 reasons for being so tired:

  1. Back to school night tonight - an enjoyable evening of meeting my daughter’s 7th grade teachers at the whirlwind tour through the school – 8 minutes in each class room with only 4 minutes in between to dash off to the next class which all seemed to be at opposite ends of the school from each other, so I’m totally wiped out from all the dashing up and down the hallways
  2. Watching way to much news lately so staying up a bit later then usual, so instead of my usual 4 or 5 hours of sleep I’m getting much less
  3. Over 14 years of only 4 or 5 five hours of interrupted sleep a night – I usually get up at least 2 to 3 times to go to the bathroom during the night so that the 4 to 5 hours I manage to get is in mini segments broken by dashing to the bathroom and then long periods of wakefulness trying to get back to sleep
  4. Lots of achiness – the damp and drizzle are really getting into my joints, making my hips and knees ache even more then usual
  5. My obssession with this year’s election (and also blogging about it, some example posts include Rise Up and Vote and Sarah Palin and the Witch Hunter.
  6. I think I’m fighting off the cold or whatever it is that is going around – a few folks at work have it, my daughter had it last week, my best friend Mama Kelly has it, and half the kids in my hubby’s high school classes are out with it.
  7. Lots of hours every day on the computer moving the blog I co-author with Mama Kelly over to it’s new home at it’s new domain (grand opening scheduled for Nov. 1) – so far over 100 pages moved and set up, and about 1/3 of the posts – still have over 1,000 posts to move over one by one, relink to related posts, add graphics, etc., and a few more minor tweaks here and there overall.
  8. Backlog of reviews to do for this blog – so trying to squeeze in time to write blog posts on top of everything else
  9. Managing the homework and social schedule of a 7th grader who is active in many things.
  10. The daily grind of up early, packing lunch and morning mayhem, followed by the daily grind of cubicle drudgery, followed by an evening of juggling everything else.
  11. Did I mention my obsession of with the news and the upcoming election and my lack of sleep? I’m so tired I can’t remember and apololgize if I’m repeating myself.
  12. My nightmare of a moose-hunting, gun carrying, book banning, witch hunting politician being a heart beat away from being the President of U.S. – but in reality I know that would never happen and is only fiction - I have no idea how such a crazy idea ever got into my head.
  13. Having only one 16 oz cup of coffee a day, instead of the gallon I need

Looking forward to Friday, looking forward to the debates (that I am confident will go on no matter who doesn’t show up), looking forward to the weekend so I have more time with my family and hopefully I can squeeze in an nap or two.
