This weekend we got an awesome 60 inch tv and it didn’t cost us anything. We had our old tv for a little over 5 years and had gotten the extended warrantly on it. Last month it started acting kinda funny, the picture was ok but definitely not as clear and a few other glitches. After several visits from the repair guy, the store office called us to say they could no longer get the parts that were needed, so our tv was being replaced.
The new one is totally awesome. I have never seen such a clear picture. It is not a flat screen, but it is about 1/3 the width of our old one and sits on top of a very nice black sleep looking shelf-stand we got for it. Hubby read up on it, and it is the latest model and top of the line.
I finally get what all the fuss is about over high definition – on this set you can see every blade of grass, every freckle, every dimple in a golf ball. On other high def tv’s I’ve seen I have never really seen all that much difference.
So my advice to everyone – on high ticket electronic type items, definitely get the extended warranty. If something goes wrong, it is definitely worth it.

I couldn’t agree more! I just had a 55″ HDTV break on me for being hardheaded leaving it on too long. But, that’s not even the bad part….I didn’t get the warranty!!! Now I’m stuck with having this huge broken T.V. since it will be difficult for me to sell for parts, etc. Trust me, I’m never making that mistake again!
