My daughter, Angelgirl, has had her GVSS lens now for two week and they are great. Her two week checkup with the eye doctor was today and every thing looks fine. Within 3 days she no longer needed her glasses at all during the day. I am so very glad we were able to do this for her. At the age of 12 she will no longer need to wear glasses ever, for as long as she wears the lens at night. The eye doctor’s office provided all the training for her and made sure she was comfortable and ready to use them before sending them home with her. And they are available 24/7 should we need them for any reason.
GVSS lens are not available every where - but if you are interested, I definitely recommend looking into them and traveling a bit if you need too find an eye doctor that deals with them. They are available for younger children and adults also.
The GVSS lens is a hard contact lens that is worn at night. It gently reshapes the eye so that glasses are no longer needed. It also prevents the eyes from changing, so vision doesn’t get any worse. It can take a few days or up to two weeks for the eye to adjust and to have 20/20 vision all day without glasses.
They are a bit expensive at first - my daughter’s cost $3,600 and were mid range in price, (the price range had five levels depending on the lens perscription). But we were able to get interest free financing. Over time they will pay for themselves. The cost includes the lens (and any replacement lens they need to make for fit or other reaons) and as many visits to the eye doctor that are needed for the first year. The second year have the option to special plan for just $300 for unlimited visits (just in case they are needed). By the third year, in almost all cases all that is needed is the annual check up that is covered by insurance. Without having to pay for glasses every year (which usually run several hundred dollars), over time the GVSS lens will more then pay for themselves.
Not wearing glasses any more is a huge benefit. But even better is her eyes will not change at all. So if in 50 years Angelgirl decided she no longer wanted to wear the GVSS lens at night any more, she could put on the pair of glasses with the perscription she has right now (at age 12) and that would be the perscription should would need at age 62.
We couldn’t be happier! And she was very excited to be starting school without her glasses.

This sounds like a miracle. Does it only work with “younger” eyes, shall we say?

Hi Luxor - it does seem like miracle. I don’t think there is an age limit - there were photos on the wall of folks who have them of all ages. I think it depends on your eyes.
